Na Pali Coast State Park

When I posted this to Instagram in 2014, I said "If I ever go to Hawaii, I want to go to Kauai Island.  It seems so rugged and beautiful."

I've since been to Hawaii, but I went to Oahu instead.  It was also beautiful.  I was amazed by the steepness of the mountains and that foilage could still grow on something so steep. 

This is my painting of Na Pali Coast State Park. 

It was done with ink and watercolor.

At this point in my art education , I still hadn't learned the concept of mixing colors before applying to the paper.  I was still working from a kids set.
