Baltimore Oriole - Watercolor

A watercolor for Maryland. The Baltimore Oriole is the state bird. I also threw in some Black-Eyed Susans because they are the state flower. I painted this in Jan 2015. I'm posting it as part of my draw or paint something from each of the 50 US states.

Upon reflection, I really enjoyed doing this painting.  I spent a lot of time doing a tight drawing in watercolor pencils first and then did the fill in with watercolor.

Still lots to learn.
