Rocky Mountain Elk - Pencil Drawing
For my draw 50 states challenge, I felt like sketching an Elk for Montana.
The elk is a symbol that reminds me most of Montana because I loved seeing them at Yellowstone when I visited and they also reminded me of the summer I did some consulting work for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in Missoula.
Montana is a beautiful place. When it comes to nature, some states have a whole lot of sameness. That is not the case with Montana. There are so many land forms and animals. Yellowstone National Park alone would take years to paint or sketch. I'll have to revisit Montana if I'm ever in need of a good art prompt.
